A lot or this is because the current mainstream worldwide ideology (woke ideology) is imported from the USA, and Americans generally aren’t aware of the history of other countries.

The only history they know is: WW2, the trans Atlantic slave trade and US specific history.

They have no awareness of the atrocities committed by other countries. They just reached the conclusions they could based on the (limited) information they had.
