But if you activists don't compare their own country to other countries, than by what standard are they rating their own country?

Activists compare their country to imaginary, perfect country that doesn't exist. An impossible and ridiculous standard. And because their standard for success isn't based in reality, they will never be happy and will always have more to complain about.
