First, men lash out at feminist posts online. All the time. I see it. Often they comment with stupid and unreasonable counter arguments.
But guess what. Write an Anti-Feminist article and you will receive exactly the same backlash. Being a feminist yourself, I suspect you’ve never experienced the other side of the coin.
Suggest that we might not actually be living in a rape culture. Suggest that we don’t actually live in a patriarchy. Suggest that the wage gap might not be predominantly due to gender discrimination. And prepare for an onslaught of toxic comments and hated.
Bring up any mens-rights issues and prepare to be laughed out the room.
The idea that I’m supposed to go out of my way to stamp out toxic masculinity is something I reject. I would consider it if I could see that feminism was actually about equality.
But feminism doesn’t care that the huge majority of homeless are men. Feminism doesn’t care that men are disproportionately ripped away from their own children. Feminism doesn’t care that men are killing themselves in increasing numbers.
If I saw feminism as a movement that was truly about equality, I would go out of my way to fight for it. But seeing as feminism is full of misinformation, completely biased towards the women’s perspective and often laughs and ridicules those who don’t agree with it, I’ll focus my efforts elsewhere.
