I don't think it's a problem that the case is mostly white. The demographic of France itself is mostly white, so the race of the characters lines up with this reality well.
We don't need to throw POC characters into every single production just to make sure that every possible ethnicity is represented.
Emily is definitely privileged beyond belief though. Paris is a bloody expensive city, and she somehow gets an apartment seemingly right in the centre in a nice area from Day 1 of moving there.
Also, the reality of Paris is that it's quite a dangerous city. Emily waltzes around by herself in the middle of the night, while in reality she would be walking at a fast pace to get home.
So yeah, the show is escapism and not really reflective of reality.
