I think by "most scholars" you mean "scholars that I've been exposed to".

And it's most certainly not a common way to think about racism around the world. This is a uniquely American perspective that very few people actually agree with worldwide. Ask a Russian. Or a Polish person. Or anybody living outside of American academia.
