I would never dream of denying anyone’s experiences or pain. Of course rape is real. The only thing I’m questioning is it’s frequency in our modern societies and the validity of calling our society a “rape culture”
“Unwanting touching” doesn’t only mean someone putting their fingers inside someone. This could mean a hand on the arm. Or a hand around the waist. Or a hand on the thigh. Is this sexual assault? If so, I’m guilty.
A man interested in meeting women will inevitably make missteps and touch a woman when she doesn’t want to be touched. Funnily enough, most men aren’t born with the ability to attract women. So they need to practise. And when you practise anything, you’re going to make mistakes along the way.
This is not downplaying sexual assault. This is making a reasonable point about an issue.
Please don’t try to shame me away from my opinions by telling me it’s not a “good look”. It’s quite the manipulative tactic.
