I’m a big fan of this article, it’s good to see someone actually talking about evolutionary science for a change. Something that’s hugely lacking in the way most feminists talk.
Really, the invention of agriculture screwed us up in all kinds of ways. And definitely created societies where being strong and violent gave you control over others.
Anyway, it seems to me that “alpha males” do actually exist. They lead others and they’re respected by others. What people tend to miss, is that alpha males are also caring towards others.
The thing is, in the real world, men who act more “alpha” get more women. It’s simply a fact of life. A man who is confident, cocky, loud and arrogant is going to be successful with women. On the other hand, a nice, kind, considerate but timid man, is going likely going to do badly with women.
Put yourself in the shoes of a man. How would you choose to behave? Women consistently reward these “toxic masculinity” behaviors. What’s a man supposed to think about that?
