“Woke Ideology” Is Completely Outdated
Get with the times.
One of my own personal heroes Marshall Mcluhan once said: “We look at the present through a rear-view mirror. We march backwards into the future”.
A lot of people, especially those who are somewhat older, have a very difficult time looking at the present day, exactly as it is, without letting the past colour their views.
In our modern technological world, things change rapidly. What was true 5 years ago is no longer true. Concepts and ideas that were once right on the money, no longer make any sense.
Over the span of 5 years, you develop a world-view. Then the world shifts, and suddenly your world-view is inaccurate and false.
“Woke Ideology” is completely outdated. Many of the politically left “woke” types, while thinking they’re on the cutting edge of progressivism, have actually long since been left behind by reality.
You will constantly hear phrases like “Historically, women have..”, or “In the past, it was..”. It’s always about how things used to be. But what does it matter, in 2023 how things used to be? Shouldn’t we be more focused on how things are?
