It doesn't matter what women, or people in general say about why they do things. The brain (the pre-frontal cortex) simply makes up rational reasons that sound good to us.

Our behaviours are what they are. The explanations we give come after the fact.

Women can give all kinds of explanations. But at the end of the day, women dressing in an attractive way increases the chances of reproduction and the spreading of genes from a high quality mate.
