It is, of course, far easier for women on dating apps. To say otherwise is mental gymnastics in my opinion.
None of what was laid out in the article really challenges the following things:
- There are more men than women on dating apps. When the supply and demand are unequal between the sexes, the results are obvious and inevitable.
- Women get hundreds, even thousands of messages and matches in a short space of time. Men very rarely reach over 100. Grab any couple, have them both make Tinder accounts, and watch as the woman is swarmed with attention while the man mostly ignored.
None of this is to say that women don’t have their own problems to deal with: finding someone who wants a relationship, dealing with abusive messages. But that dating apps give women an incredible ability to meet large numbers of men whenever they please, if they please.
I don’t know why people try to pretend this isn’t the case.
