What you said isn’t necessarily true. If the Romanian police were pressured by foreign governments (the US for example), they would react in exactly this way.

It reminds me of when Julian Assange was investigated for sexual assault while he was hiding from the US government. They never found any evidence, but the newspaper headlines still spread far and wide.

Do you get it? Allegations of horrific crimes can be used to purposefully destroy someone’s reputation. You just have to convince/bribe somebody to lie to the police.

That might sound conspiratorial, but government agencies do things like this all the time.

Having said all that, he could just be a scumbag human trafficker. I can totally imagine that being true too. I can honestly imagine both scenarios being true.
