Just Because It’s Interesting, That Doesn’t Mean It’s Worth Your Time
It’s time to learn this important lesson about living in our new digital world
The internet is still an incredibly new tool, one that we’re collectively still learning how to use.
Most of us still haven’t figured out how to use the internet productively without simultaneously wasting hours upon hours consuming interesting content that we do not need to watch.
Take myself for example. My new obsession is to watch “Reaction Videos” like this one on Youtube. I like to watch other people reacting to my favourite TV shows and movies; it’s interesting to me to see how different people react.
Sometimes I watch other kinds of interesting videos. This morning I found myself watching videos about a conspiracy that Argentina secretly rigged the 2022 world cup in their favour. Apparently, Argentina were given a strangely high number of penalties during the tournament, and people believe that Argentina paid the tournament organisers in Qatar to rig the decisions of each match in their favour. How interesting!
