This is the kind of slogan you’ll see written on signs at a protest.
Nowadays, every single time somebody starts spouting their over-confident and ill-informed opinions about politics, one particular quote continues to cross my mind.
“There are no solutions. Only trade-offs”
This was spoken by American economist Thomas Sowell in an interview many years ago. And it applies to every single area of politics.
People speak so passionately, so confidently and so emotionally about their political points of view. And every single time they do, all I can think is: “There are no solutions. Only trade-offs”.
