No i think we’re on the same page. Nate fakes those characteristics to get women into bed. Sure, the mask slips eventually, but he still gets what he wants.
My point is, it’s an effective strategy, because women keep getting into bed with him. The strategy gets results.
This makes the genuinely kind, honest young men bitter and angry (and who can blame them?) After all, many of these young men are completely sexless. For them, their honesty and kindness is acting what’s preventing them from getting the sex they want.
If they could be more like Nate, they would get more sex. Men like Nate are frequently rewarded by women for their behavior.
The real reason for this, is that we live in unnaturally huge societies, where “marketing” is often more important than real character. In the tribal environment we’re evolved for, everybody would know each other’s character, and women would avoid men like Nate.
