The barrier to entry for swiping someone online is 0. The barrier to entry to approaching someone in the real world is: controlling your nerves, being courageous, being socially aware etc. A higher barrier to entry means that less people do it, which means you have a higher chance of success.

The advice I give to anyone struggling with dating is: approach people in the real world. Nobody is doing it! You’ll stand out from the crowd immediately.
