The patriarchy is not an all encompassing truth of the world. It is a theory put forward by feminism, subject to criticism and questioning.
According to feminism, the patriarchy is infiltrating my thought processes at every minute of the day, colouring all of my opinions. I disagree with this.
I do not believe that just because a small number of men hold most positions of power, that the entire society is encompassed in a "patriarchy" that everyone is affected by. I do not believe regular citizens walk around, in 2023, having our actions and thoughts shaped by the patriarchy at every turn.
Does that really sound so unreasonable?
