I agree that Hollywood is reflecting our natural biological desires and certainly isn’t creating them. Women naturally prefer certain facial features as they’re indicators of health.
But Hollywood also produces patterns that aren’t accurate to reality. In the real world, attractive people don’t all behave like confident heros. And unattractive people don’t all behave like side-characters.
Does GaryV look like the main character of a Hollywood movie? Did Jimmy Hendrix? These guys are successful with women in the real world due to their behaviour.
Media amplifies the importance of attractiveness and subdues the importance of behaviour.
In the real world — Behaviour is the most important indicator of attractiveness for men. Even if various media seem to suggest that apperance is the most important factor.
When it comes to men rating women — I think there’s less room for hope. Physical attractiveness seems to be the most important factor in the real world too.
