That's right. But to go deeper, to a large extent, on a subconscious level the brain can NEVER separate fantasy from reality.

That's why people get scared at horror movies, despite the fact no danger is present.

The oldest parts of the brain, our "lizard brain", is not evolved to deal with screens.

Just as you can confuse an ape by putting up a mirror so it can see it's own reflection, humans can be confused be consuming content on screens.

The pre-frontal cortex knows the images you see aren't real, but the lizard brain can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality.
