“The press does not tell us what to think, it tells us what to think about”
Mainstream media sets the parameters for which discussions are had. Everybody is focused on the specifics of each story and nobody is noticing that which is not being discussed.
Why are we selling weapons to the middle east? Why do we have military bases around the world?
These questions have never been discussed on mainstream news.
We have a reticular activating system (RAS) in our brain that determines what we focus on. Just like our eyes, we can only focus on one thing at a time while everything else blurs into the background. The mainstream media directs our focus.
This was an awesome piece of writing. Good work.
