The problem is, the popular narrative right now is that men are superficial and women are not.
Women are just as superficial as men, just as the tweet reveals. Generally speaking, women don't recognise their own superficiality.
They notice men's superficiality; how we often care more about a woman's body and beauty above anything else. But they never seem to notice some of the own superficial standards they use.
I remember being rejected by a woman once because "I didn't have a car". So I told her I had spent the last 8 years travelling and living around the world and I had just arrived home.
It didn't matter. I didn't have a car. In her mind, that's all that mattered.
