The Reaction to Andrew Tate’s Arrest is Absolutely Ridiculous

A Case Study in Cognitive Biases

Now I’m no fan of Andrew Tate. I find the methods he used to make his money (camgirl sites and casinos) unethical. I find the way he flaunts material possessions to be distasteful. And I find some of his rhetoric about women to be potentially harmful.

But the reaction to Andrew Tate’s arrest has been absolutely ridiculous.

I sometimes feel as though the number of actual adults, capable of controlling their emotions and engaging in critical thinking skills, is shrinking rapidly.

Why do I think the reaction to his arrest has been ridiculous? Let me explain.

Greta Thunberg and the Pizza Boxes

If you’re not aware of the Twitter exchange that happened between Tate and Greta, here it is:

Social Media truly turns people into little children. Throwing insults at each other. Trying to “own” one another.

People across the internet began shouting about how Greta “owned” Tate with her apparently genius and witty response.

If you look at the exchange with a unbiased mind, you might notice that Greta’s response makes no sense whatsoever. After all, she’s responding with her own email address and is actually telling the world that she’s the one who has “small dick energy”.

But people either don’t notice this, or willfully ignore it. Why? Because they hate Andrew Tate.

People are filled with hatred towards Andrew Tate and therefore are completely unable to see things clearly. They’re filled with biases that shape how they view every single piece of media they consume. Because of their cognitive biases, they will interpret every piece of media about Andrew Tate in a negative manner.

Andrew Tate then responded in-kind with a 2 minute video pocking Greta. During this 2 minute clip, a couple of pizza boxes were placed in view of the camera.
