This is a good point, but I don’t agree. So I’ll go deeper to explain.

Extreme and tribal violence is still acted out at sports events, and is controlled by severe punishments by the law. And even despite this, people still engage in violence. (In small numbers).

Our bias towards religion is acted out in other ways: Some might say that this new Woke ideology is a replacement for religion.

We’ve done an excellent job at containing our negative evolutionary impulses, but they’re always ready to explode if our societal situation ever changes (what do you imagine might happen if food stopped appearing in the supermarkets).

Now, making it a norm for women to approach men isn’t like the previous examples, where you’re suppressing our evolutionary impulses. Instead, it’s like attempting to flip them on their heads. As human beings, we aren’t blank slates, and can’t be programmed into what’s the most convenient.

In my humble opinion, the mating ritual is simply imprinted too deep within our psychology to ever change on a mass scale.

But hey, I’d love to be proven wrong. I think men would genuinely enjoy being catcalled.
