This is all very interesting.

Although to me it seems like dominance hierarchies come about, not from patriarchies in particular, but from giant agricultural based societies, composed of large numbers of people. Surely that's the biggest difference between our society and there's.

In tribes and small communities such as these, everybody knows everybody, which means that bad behaviour, and overly dominant or violent behaviour would be known by everyone.

I feel like a lot of the problems caused by patriarchy are actually caused by our unnaturally giant societies, filled with millions of strangers we don't know. When you live in societies filled with strangers, bad behaviour can be done unpunished.

Surely this is a far more important factor than which gender holds more positions of power. Even if we had a perfect 50/50 mix of men and women holding positions of power, would society change? I would guess absolutely nothing would change.

I'm still lost on exactly why "the patriarchy" has to be the overarching narrative of all of our problems.
