Are you a man? Do you find dating apps endlessly frustrating and mind-bendingly unfair? Do you feel your self-esteem being kicked into the dirt every single time you attempt to find a date online?

Chill. You’re not the only one.

Here I have compiled a list of men discussing their personal experiences with dating apps.

You will quickly see that most men have a similar experience:

“I can personally say, as a guy, that my experiences on dating apps negatively effected my self esteem. Now I’m older and have more perspective, and a healthier outlook regarding dating and the apps. But as a younger guy, it always bummed me out”

“As an emotional being, and a man at that. It is getting intensely frustrating to use dating apps. Its true that it diminishes confidence and instills a lot of self doubt. But there are very few other options.”

Because nobody educates young men about the unfair gender bias of dating apps, they often walk away with severely damaged self-esteem. They falsely equate their attractiveness on dating apps with their attractiveness in the real world.

Does anybody care that this technology damages the self-esteem of young men? No. After all, selling premium packages like Tinder Gold or OkCupid Premium to desperate young men is a highly profitable business model.

“And all along I thought it was about ME! As a man I never had success on dating apps but I generally do well meeting women socially — not necessarily dating them — yet dating apps made me feel unattractive, damaging my self esteem, and I have to pay for this privilege! Young(ish), free and single once again, I’m staying away from dating apps.”

“After spending too much time (and money) on dating apps I made a promise to myself to never use a dating app again. And I haven’t in over 6 months. No need for that self-humiliation I put myself through every day, making me feel miserable”
