To start, I am definitely not shouting him down (As I’m using actual arguments and not random insults). The article is well written and far better than most feminist articles I see.
The first thing I’ll do is point something you just said that reveals a major problem with feminism:
And when you say objectively false things that are dismissive of real people’s pain (like that there is no rape culture), you kinda deserve to be shouted down.
Objectively false huh? Are you sure? Because there are legitimate arguments against the idea of rape culture. (“Rape culture” suggests that rape is accepted in western culture. It’s not. It’s rightfully demonised. The only thing that exists is a small rape counter-culture).
But this opinion of mine, with legitimate arguments to back it up, is “objectively false”. So much so that I might even deserve to be shouted down.
Feminism assumes that the argument is over. that they’re right and the rest of the world is ignorant. Feminism is not open to alternative points of view. At all.
While true feminism may be about equality for both genders mainstream feminism certainly isn’t. Mainstream feminism includes openly laughing at men’s rights activists.
And there’s no way I’m going to go out of my way to attack the massively overblown problem of toxic masculinity to help an ideology that I completely disagree with.
