Most people do what feels good. They choose beliefs that make themselves feel good. They believe the happy stories and filter out the bad.

They spend their life pursuing comfort and happiness. They follow the narrative put fourth to them by the culture and the media inside their countries. After all, that’s the most comfortable and happy path.

For most, their lives are shaped around the thoughts and opinions of others. They seek status and prestige in the eyes of the crowd. They want to climb the hierarchy of social status and they’ll adopt whatever beliefs are popular at at any given moment to get there.

They’re like a leaf in the wind, letting the winds of the culture choose their beliefs for them.

Yet a special few, and maybe I’m talking to you right now, are obsessed with seeking the truth.

Instead of prioritising your own happiness, you prioritise the truth.

Those who tell the truth exactly as it is without bending their speech towards social approval are true heroes.
