Women prefer men with a higher social status. Men prefer women who are physically attractive. This is generally how it works.

Women often date-up when they can have a higher-status man. Men often date-up when they can have a more attractive woman.

Unfortunately, we are both shallow in our own ways. To me, these preferences are undeniable.
