You talk about British people as though we're all privileged, yet I look around my country and most people I know are barely able to pay for rent and food.
2.1 million Brits used a food bank in 2022.
Sounds to me like you're just talking about the upper class.
Throughout the majority of history most British people were dirt poor; below the poverty line. Working in coal mines, sweeping chimneys and so on.
This narrative of Brits all being a bunch of privileged, rich colonisers has to stop. It simply isn't true for the vast majority of Brits.
